Job Description – Door Supervisors
General
To work as part of a security team, and conduct himself or herself in such away, as to assist in the creation of a pleasant and secure atmosphere for all persons on the premises.
To ensure by his/her actions, knowledge, bearing and appearance that the security of the venue, public the staff, and it’s material contents are safe against threat of whatever nature. To recognise that the role is primarily of a deterrent nature and based upon the fostering of good customer relations.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Screening customers in line with the company/venue policy. Entry should be refused to those who do not meet the company/venue requirements on standard of dress, conduct age etc. No admissions are allowed after the times permitted by the licensing Authorities.
- Welcoming customers upon the arrival and a thank you or other appropriate comment upon their departure.
- Ensuring that entertainers are allowed to perform without interference or hindrance, where applicable.
- Ensuring that all emergency exits are unlocked and clear whilst members of the public are on the premises
- Ensure that the fire limit for the number of persons within the venue is adhered to at all times.
- Ensuring that troublemakers are quickly identified and that the matter is dealt with quickly and as quietly as possible, using the minimum of force.
- All incidents that may occur are fully documented in the incident report book, on the same night that the incident occurs.
- To adhere to the company's policy in respect of drugs as detailed in the misuse of drugs procedure.
- Ensuring that all customers leave the premises at the end of the session and that no intoxicating liquor is consumed after the statutory drinking up period.
- On departure of the last member of the public has left the building, all toilets and emergency exits are checked and all windows are secure.
- To adhere to the Health and Safety at work Act 1974 and report any damage to fixtures, equipment etc. to the management as soon as possible.
- To be fully conversant with fire evacuation procedures of the venue.
- Be fully conversant with all notices, which are displayed within the licensed premises i.e. underage drinking, drinking up time, dress, noise etc.
- Ensure that all standards required by both the law and company are maintained at all times.
- Undertake any other tasks, which may be considered necessary by the company.
DOOR SUPERVISOR - RULES & REGULATIONS
- You must hold Valid Security Industry Authority Licence.
- At all times whilst on duty you must wear your Security Industry Authority Licence.
- No protruding rings i.e. Sovereigns, or excessive jewellery to be worn whilst on duty.
- No steel toe capped footwear is to be worn.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
- Assist the Licensee of the venue to maintain control of people entering and leaving the premises and to ensure their safety in the event of an emergency.
- At no time must any form of weapon be carried or be kept on the premises of the venue. During any incident or disturbance, no implement should be used as a weapon. Any person using weapons or makeshift weapons will be dismissed immediately.
- In the interest of security for both the company/venue the right is reserved to insist that you are searched before you enter or leave a premises or at any other time that it is deemed appropriate. A senior staff member of either the company or venue will carry out the search, but you may have a third party present at the time.
- Where a person has to be legally removed from the premises, the persons effecting the removal may only use the minimum amount of force necessary to achieve this. Where any force is used, the persons using it must be prepared to justify in detail his/her actions. The law does not offer any excuse or defence if the force cannot be reasonably justified.
- All incidents in the venue that you are involved in or observed in close proximity of the venue must be reported to the licensee and recorded on an incident report as soon as practically possible.
- You must not drink any alcohol or take drugs during your period of duty nor perform your duties whilst under the influence of the aforementioned.
- If charged with any offence, full details to be given to the company within 7 days of notification of such charges being made against you.
- You must attend all appropriate training seminars as identified by Global Security Services, the Licensee or other official body.
